ABSTRACT Background and Aim: The educational system of each country plays an important role in preparing scientific, cultural, political, and economic professionals, and success in this regard contributes to the comprehensive development of countries. Comparing the educational systems of different countries can contribute to curriculum improvement and provide opportunities for reviewing, enhancing, and refining their content and quality. Materials and Methods: This comparative study aimed to compare the Master’s degree curriculum in Community Health Nursing in Iran with that of Mahatma Gandhi Mission Institute of Health Sciences, India, during 2025–2026. Data were analyzed using Bereday’s comparative model, which consists of four stages: description, interpretation, juxtaposition, and comparison. Results: The findings showed that both programs share similarities in their overall structure, educational objectives, and expected professional roles; however, notable differences were also identified. The Iranian curriculum places greater emphasis on a community-oriented approach, disease prevention, health promotion, and primary health care, whereas the curriculum at Mahatma Gandhi Mission Institute of Health Sciences places greater emphasis on the development of professional competencies, advanced clinical skills, research, management, and leadership within the health system. Courses in the Iranian curriculum are organized based on academic credits, whereas courses in the Indian curriculum are organized according to instructional hours. Regarding student admission, Iran primarily follows an examination-based approach, whereas professional experience is also considered in the Indian program. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that the Iranian curriculum places greater emphasis on addressing community needs and strengthening primary health care, whereas the Indian curriculum places greater emphasis on developing professional skills, leadership, and assuming roles at managerial and policy-making levels. It appears that integrating the community-oriented approach of the Iranian curriculum with the skill-oriented and leadership-oriented approach of the Indian curriculum may contribute to the revision of the Master’s degree curriculum in Community Health Nursing in Iran.
