Background: Breast cancer associated with severe psychological distress which have adversly effect on women's self-confidence. Considering the importance of the subject, the aim of this systematic review was to examine the effect of counseling-educational interventions on stress, depression and anxiety in women undergoing breast cancer treatment. Material and methods: The databases of PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, SID, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Science Direct were searched from 2010 to 2023 to identify relevant articles. The search was done using the keywords counseling, education, psychological intervention, stress, depression, anxiety, mastectomy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and all possible combinations of these words and Boolean operators of "OR" and "AND". From a total of 1283 studies obtained after removing duplicate and unrelated cases, the quality of 25 studies was evaluated using the Jadad scale. Results: Finally, 25 studies (with a total sample size of 1261 people) were systematically reviewed. Of these, 13 articles examined educational interventions and 12 papers assessed counseling interventions. All supportive interventions including CBT, ACT, metacognitive therapy, Narrative Therapy, Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, face-to-face training, electronics education, stress management and psychological training caused a significant difference in psychological variables between the intervention and control groups. Conclusion: Most of the supportive interventions examined in this study using educational and counseling models improve mental health and reduce anxiety and depression during and after treatment in women with breast cancer. However, According to the fact that half of the studies are of poor quality based on the Jadad scale, it seems necessary to design studies with a more accurate methodology in order to be surer of the effectiveness of the studies.
