Abstract:   (1004 Views)
Background and Aim: Nowadays, the progress of surgical methods has shortened the time of hospitalization of the patients and increased the educational needs of the patients with ostomy when they return home. This study was conducted with the aim of adaptation of the clinical guideline for caring of ostomy bag at home for patients with intestinal ostomy.
Materials and Methods: This study was carried out through a multi-stage evolutionary study based on adjusted steps of the clinical adaptation standard provided by the international network of clinical guidelines at Islamic Azad University, Isfahan (Khorasgan) branch in December 2021, based on the opinions of experts using AGREE tool. Among 14 clinical guidelines, quality of 5 guidelines for the home care of ostomy bag was assessed optimal. The clinical guideline draft was evaluated by experts and target users using RAND method and finally presented as an adaptive clinical guideline.
Results: The adaptive clinical guideline for taking care of ostomy bag at home was consisted of 95 recommendations and had two sections; “nursing care in the field of using ostomy products” and “nursing care in the field of changing the ostomy bag”.
Conclusion: The recommendations of this clinical guideline can be used in order to meet some of the needs of the patients with intestinal ostomy and improve their health and can be a guide for nurses working in the hospitals and centers providing home care services
