Abstract
Background and Aim: Teaching is defined as a set of interactive, targeted measures designed, performed, and evaluated by the lecturer. In this process, lecturer and students can be affected. Effective teaching requires strong links between objectives, teaching, learning, and training methods. This study was conducted to determine viewpoints of the students in Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences and Islamic Azad University, Sanandaj Branch about effective teaching and its related factors.
Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study included 520 students from Kurdistan university of Medical Sciences and Islamic Azad university of Sanandaj. We used a questionnaire including demographic data (age, gender, field of the study, course of the study, etc.) and 23 questions on the characteristics of effective teaching for data collection. Using SPSS version 16, data were analyzed by descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean, S.D; and, analytical statistics such as U Mann-Whitney and Kruskal- Wallis tests.
Results: The most important features of effective teaching from the view point of the students were teacher's mastery (4.46±0.83) and interest (4.45±0.83). The least important characteristics of effective teaching were easy access to the teacher outside the classroom (3.84±0.91) and using teaching aids by the teacher (3.67±1.10). There were statistically significant differences between gender of the students and teaching method (p=0.007) and personal characteristics (p=0.02).
Conclusion: To improve the quality of education in these universities, it is recommended that characteristics such as teacher’s mastery and interest in their fields of teaching be considered important.

Abstract
Backgrounds: Accidents and injuries are among the main causes of disability and mortality and are regarded as public health problems. Considering the importance of this subject, the aim of this study was to investigate the incidence and trend of accidents and injuries in Kurdistan Province.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Kurdistan Province, between 2010 and 2014. Data were extracted from national road traffic, injuries and accident databases. Data analysis was performed by using Stata 12.
Results: The findings of this study showed that the highest incidence rates of accidents and injuries belonged to the individuals between 20 and 29 years of age, and was two times higher in men than in women. We found a decreasing trend in the incidence rates of accidents and injuries between 2010 and 2013, and an increasing trend in 2014. Also, trauma showed a significant decreasing trend from 2010 to 2014, while the number of burn cases increased by four times between 2013 and 2014. Moreover, we found a fourfold increase in the number of suicide cases between 2010 and 2013 with a decreasing trend in 2014.
Conclusion: Results of this study suggested that accident-related injuries were most prevalent among male young adults, and road traffic injuries had the greatest impact on these individuals. Thus, appropriate plans should be designed to decrease the prevalence of RTAs among young adults.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Head lice infestation is one of the health problems that are more prevalent in schools, worldwide. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of head lice infestation in governmental primary school students in Marivan City and its related factors such as age, grade, gender, bathing and hair length in 2018-19.
Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in Marivan City in the first semester of 2018-19. Using random sampling method, we selected 457 students from different regions of Marivan. SPSS 20 software was used for data analysis.
Results: Among 457 students, 109 (23.9%) were infested with head lice. The rate of infestation was higher in the girls (68.8%). The highest and lowest percentages of infestation were detected in 29.4% and 2.8% of the fourth and first grade primary school students, respectively. There was a significant statistical relationship between head lice infestation and gender (p = 0.0001).
Conclusion: The results of the study indicated a high rate of pediculosis capitis in the students. This high rate of infestation can lead to more spread of infestation among the students and, consequently, - can cause students failure at schools. It seems necessary to take measures to reduce this infestation by planning and designing training classes for school principals, teachers and parents of the students
